President Donald Trump, who once admitted to using his fame to accost women without their consent, stepped up on Wednesday to defend embattled Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who’s also reportedly a serial abuser of women.

During an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday, Trump bashed the Times and other mainstream media outlets while reserving praise for O’Reilly, who’s reportedly settled five separate lawsuits filed by women alleging sexual harassment or other inappropriate behavior.

Surrounded by his aides in the Oval Office, Trump told the Times:

“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” said Mr. Trump, who during the interview was surrounded at his desk by a half-dozen of his highest-ranking aides, including the economic adviser Gary Cohn and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, along with Vice President Mike Pence.

“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally I think he shouldn’t have settled,” said Mr. Trump. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”

Birds of a feather, these two.
